Finike is a popular Mediterranean destination located near other major hubs like Elmalı, Kumluca, Demre, and Kaş. Known for its orange groves and historical significance as a port established by the Phoenicians, the district offers a mix of scenic beaches and ancient ruins.

1. Limyra Ancient City
Limyra is a significant historical site located approximately 7 km from Finike town centre at the base of Toçak Mountain. This ancient city, which was once an active Lycian settlement, features ruins dating back thousands of years, including an acropolis, monumental tombs, and a church.
The most notable structure is the amphitheatre, which has a seating capacity of 3,700 people. Visitors can also observe well-preserved rock-cut tombs with original reliefs and various examples of Roman architecture throughout the site.
2. Andrea Doria Bay
Located just south of the town centre along the Demre-Finike highway, Andrea Doria Bay is considered one of the most beautiful coves in the Antalya region. Named after the Genoese admiral Andrea Doria, the bay remains largely undeveloped and retains its natural state.
The bay is a popular spot for camping, trekking, and picnics under the shade of its surrounding trees. It is also a habitat where visitors may occasionally spot Mediterranean monk seals and Caretta caretta sea turtles.
3. Suluin Cave
Suluin Cave, also known as “İncirli Cave,” is famous for having the widest entrance of any cave on the Asian continent. The cave extends for approximately 500 metres with an estimated total depth of nearly 130 metres. The interior of the cave features a mysterious atmosphere created by its stalactites, travertines, and pools.
Due to a tragic incident involving researchers in the early 2000s, all diving activities within the cave are strictly prohibited.
4. Arykanda Ancient City
Arykanda is an ancient Lycian city located near Arif Village, about 30 km from Finike. Its name translates to “the place near high rocks,” reflecting its dramatic position. The city was discovered in 1838 by Charles Fellows and has been the site of numerous archaeological excavations.
Key ruins that remain standing include a well-preserved amphitheatre, an agora, bathhouses, a gymnasium, and a necropolis. The most ancient structure on the site is the 6,000-year-old Temple of Helios.
5. Gökbük Canyon
Gökbük Canyon is located 14 km from Finike centre on the road toward Elmalı. Stretching for 4 km, the canyon is a popular destination for those looking to escape the crowds and enjoy outdoor sports.
Visitors can participate in a variety of activities including trekking, canoeing, paragliding, fishing, and camping. The entrance to the canyon features facilities such as cafes and souvenir shops for travellers.
6. Rhodiapolis Ancient City
Rhodiapolis is situated on a hill 17 km from Finike near the town of Kumluca. Established as a Rhodian colony and a member of the Lycian League, the city offers panoramic views of the Mediterranean.
The site is known for its connection to Opramoas, once the wealthiest person in the region, whose tomb is located behind the theatre stage. Surviving structures include a theatre, bathhouses, a temple, a church, and water cisterns.
7. Korsan Bay (Pirate Bay)
Korsan Bay is a 900-metre-long cove located in the village of Karaöz within the Mavikent area. Mentioned in the works of Piri Reis as “Karaöz Bay,” it was historically used as a sheltered harbour for sailors during storms.
The bay is a popular stop along the Lycian Way and is known for its exceptionally clear, crystal-like water. A small facility is available in the surrounding area to provide basic services for visitors.
8. Finike Marina
Opened in 1997, Finike Marina is a central landmark that serves yachts and superyachts up to 50 metres in length. The marina has a capacity for over 300 vessels and maintains a water depth of 5 metres.
The marina is lined with cafes and restaurants, offering a social environment for maritime enthusiasts. Its proximity to ancient ruins makes it a unique stop for travellers exploring the district’s history.
9. Finike Beach
Finike Beach is a 2-km-long public beach located in the town centre that is free to enter. It is a popular destination for locals and tourists alike, featuring numerous cafes in the immediate area
While sunbathing, visitors can clearly see Finike Port located directly to the west. Its central location makes it one of the most accessible spots for a day by the sea.
10. Gökliman Bay
Gökliman Bay is located at the southern end of Finike and is famous for its clear turquoise waters. The bay’s sheltered and quiet environment has allowed its natural state to remain well-preserved.
The pebble beach is a favourite location for snorkelling and diving to explore underwater life. Due to its historical use as a port, visitors may also find ancient ruins in the surrounding forest areas.
